We live in a fast-paced world. It’s a complicated world. A world filled with beliefs that don’t allow us to leap.
Hey readers, I hope you are doing well and am sending a lot of positivity to all of you.
It’s a world that is simulated and that’s where we live in.
Self-belief is the cheat code in today’s time.
Many people live and have been bought up with limiting beliefs.
And these are beliefs that don’t help us to thrive. They are stopping us.
Limiting beliefs are horrible and an excuse for not achieving the thing that we want to achieve.
Limiting beliefs keep us in our comfort zones.
They limit our confidence as it makes us self-doubt our abilities.
It limits our development and achievement of our goals both personally and professionally.
Limiting beliefs are subconscious thoughts and appear as a defense mechanism to avoid possible frustrations, failure, and disappointment.
We all go through ups and downs in life, something specific has suffered which leads to fear.
But when it comes to facing a similar situation in life, then our subconscious mind blocks it.
You see it’s linked, we are what we believe ourselves to be.
So, in today’s post, we’ll be discussing 12 ways to overcome limiting beliefs that will help in succeeding and thriving.
12 Ways To Overcome Limiting Belief And Succeed:-
A good starting exercise to overcome limiting belief is to find the root of the problem and finding the agent causing such negativity.
It could be anything right from personal beliefs to hereditary experiences to even social circles and society.
To overcome limiting beliefs think about the things that you want to do but are not able to achieve. Ask yourself,
Why am I not able to do the thing that I want to do?
What’s stopping me?
Talk to people you trust.
So, without further adieu let’s learn 12 ways to overcome limiting beliefs and succeed, who knows one of the ways can change the course of life and help you in thriving.
I am not perfect, smart, pretty, and talented:-
This is known as Imposter Syndrome.
When your self-doubt yourself and feel demotivated.
The meaning of imposter syndrome is the persistent inability to believe that one’s success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved as a result of one’s efforts or skills.
So, how to deal with it, well, the best way to overcome imposter syndrome is not to think about it.
Nail it! Don’t think about what others will say.
We are not what we believe we are, we are what we do! Remember the slogan of Nike, “Just Do It”.
It’s ok if it sucks in the first place, that’s what failing is, learning in the first attempt. This will make you realize you are the kind of person that can do it. It’s better to fail rather than not trying.
Growth comes from momentum. If things are not structured then it’s important to get started and build momentum.
Life is tough:-
Life varies. Yes, it’s filled with hurdles but it’s hard sometimes….not always.
Life is pretty balanced! Sometimes you get some easy and at times you get some hard.
It’s dual, you’ve heard it many times that to enjoy the good life you need to experience a bad one first.
And this self-belief that life is tough limits your belief and doesn’t allow you to thrive.
As I mentioned in my previous blog regarding the way we think about money, being broke and poor are two different things.
Poor people blame the universe for the situation and don’t take responsibility whereas, the broke don’t blame others and take the responsibility to live a better life.
So, for everyone else, how tough life is, is a choice.
We have the power to determine how hard we wish our life to be.
Your actions today should ripple a better outcome at a later date.
Your life might be hard, but if you choose the right path of hard then it won’t be for long!

It’s too early as I am too old/young:-
This one is one of the limiting beliefs and is a fear of success.
We all had that perspective in life that to achieve success in life you need to be of so and so age.
I was one of them as I had this perspective regarding success but I as I grew up I realized how wrong I was.
The world rewards you based on your action not based on age.
Nobody cares about your age as long as you can solve a problem for them.
We live in a world that is resulted oriented and what matters is the ability to solve a problem is a thing that success is measured on!
But you might feel that it’s not the right time to start or it’s too early, the truth is it’s neither too late nor early, just do it.
“The first rule of learning to ride a bike is to get on a bike!”
Age is just a number what matters is getting started.
Others are better than me:-
This limiting belief ruins our ability.
A perfectionist inside you talks and says, “You have to be 100 percent perfect”.
And this belief forces us to be perfect which eventually makes our lives difficult.
Yes, the truth is people are way better than you!
Statistically speaking, you’ll never be the best but it has nothing to do with the quality of your life moving forward.
Don’t think about life as a race.
You are not shooting for perfection, you are shooting for progress!
Ask yourself, Are you better today than you were yesterday? Good! Keep that going!
You don’t have to be a part of the race and reach the finish line.
Rather you have your lane with your finish line where you are not chasing to come first or second. So, stop comparing yourself with others.
Rich people are evil:-
Remember, you’ll never become what you hate!
If you think rich people are evil, then you’ll never become one.
If you’ll think rich people got lucky then you’ll never become rich cause you were not lucky.
Rich people aren’t evil, they had their own story, had a different background, education.
By education, I don’t mean school, instead, they focused on being on the streets, getting into the market, understanding how the market works, how money flows, and how to be a part of the chain.
The best way to overcome this limiting belief is to understand this golden rule, “You are not paid based on your effort, but based on your result!”
So, if you are providing some value to the marketplace that is worth it, then you’ll be paid.
Nobody started where I started ever made it:-
This limiting belief is found in many forms. One of the most common perceptions that we have is, “It’s impossible to become rich unless you come from money”.
It’s a big doubt. But no I was wrong.
The truth is life doesn’t work according to our expectations.
Some people have started right from scratch without having a strong financial background and have transitioned into a life of prosperity and happiness.
You probably know the likes of people such as JK Rowling, Howard Schultz, Mark Cuban, Elon Musk.
Every individual has a different story and beginnings some were homeless, some were broke.
And we can’t imagine the pain some of them had gone through, to escape that world they lived in and became successful. And so can you.
Past performance isn’t an indicator of future performance!
Just because your beginnings were difficult and painful, it doesn’t mean that you’ll be destined to live a life of pain.
It takes time and effort. Don’t give up who knows maybe one day you’ll be successful and set an example.
“The only way to change your destiny is to accept that you’re the one determining it!”
So, act like that!
Work sucks and it’s not meant to be enjoyed:-
Working is important as it’s the only medium where we can survive in this world and fulfill our basic needs.
Great rewards come with great sacrifices so you have to work in higher volumes.
That’s what hard work means when people say work hard.
Hard work is not about carrying stones bare hand, but it’s about pushing yourself beyond everyone else is pushing in terms of time, effort, and brainpower.
It’s important to set big goals and do the challenging work, this requires you to push beyond boundaries.
It’s not an easy game as nobody wants to be a part of it. Challenge draws us.
But if you are working and not enjoying it then your soul and brain are shouting that get the heck out of it and do something else.
Another limiting belief is the feeling of overwhelming.
“I’m overwhelmed and I always feel monotonous and will have to live with it forever.”
The best way to get out of this thought is to simply make small improvements.
Add value to life.
Won’t happen all of a sudden it takes time.
Break the process into smaller parts.

All men are dogs/all women are gold diggers:-
This one is the best example in the series of beliefs and generalizes the huge population based on a very limited sample one has encountered.
The world is a tiny placed and is filled with all sorts of men and women.
So, ladies if you have met men who were a**holes, then the common factor in this equation is you.
See the problem isn’t all men, it’s you who was chasing after a**holes expecting a different result.
Calm down men, it’s not over.
Every coin has two sides, you have all the women who are gold diggers.
This is the root cause as it leads to personal insecurity and you don’t have the girl of your dream as you lack financial insecurity.
You see the irony,
The fat ones want to date the fit ones.
The poor ones want to date the rich ones and so on.
The most important thing is finding the right ones.
The one who listens to you supports you, is compatible with each other.
Push each other to thrive.
You need to become a match! Someone the person you’re looking for fits.
Wanna date some celebrity, then be that person who can match the status of that celebrity.
Fix yourself.
Before you judge someone, make sure you know what you bring to the table.
And if this isn’t much, maybe you should work on yourself. Invest in yourself and see the changes.
I can’t learn anything as I don’t have brains:-
I still remember my school and college days.
Oh! Lovely days.
And I remember we used to sit at the backbench and were very talkative and chilling out.
All of a sudden one of my teachers told us “The backbenchers” if you won’t study and score good marks then you won’t excel in life.
You’ll be useless. Our teachers were wrong. So, wrong.
In the real world, grades and degrees don’t matter.
Degrees are bullshit!
And the fun fact is, A students work for C students because the real-world grades perform differently.
Maybe you suck at math but have a passion for something else.
C students are super learners and they believe in learning from personal experiences and getting into the marketplace.
Successful people master the art of learning just like watching any TV drama and learn anything, we never approach it that way.
Business people learn things differently.
They don’t believe in learning from academic books, rather read books of successful people, use the internet, and applying it in the practical world.
That’s what a combination of book smart and street smart is?
Set a unique framework of learning.
To overcome limiting beliefs and make a change, then start by learning a new skill.

I don’t have time and money:-
Well, this limiting belief might even be true, and there’s a catch to it.
You have to select either one of the limitations, money or time. Can’t be both.
The baseline is something like this if you are young, you have time but you don’t have money.
And if you are old, you have money but don’t have time. You see it’s inverse.
If you don’t have either then you’re in a maze, my friend.
Life is a strategy, and you have a limited amount of resources and have to use them strategically to complete your work.
We all have the same 24 hours, and you have to use it properly.
Wanna get the work done, cut 1 or 2 hrs of sleep, and wake up in the morning.
Then use 7-14 hours towards health, family, happiness, learning, and making more money.
With Money, you can maximize your returns.
How can I make more money with the same amount of effort? What skills should I learn?
Once you begin to think about your limitation this way, you realize sh*t man it’s all about managing the time and it can be solved.
Only stupid people are happy:-
This one makes you think. This is surface-level superficial knowledge.
That’s the reason why a show like Big Bang Theory became a hit, why?
Just because you understood the jokes on the TV show you’re smarter than everyone else.
Well, it’s not they have been playing with you!
This limiting belief is not true, cause the more intellectual you are, the more you’ll understand the world around you, or even simpler. Ignorance is bliss.
The weaker soul to a belief that knowledge is a curse and they’ll never be happy.
Answer this million-dollar question,
“If you are smart...Why are you not happy?!”
“If you are smart...Why have you not made money?!”
Just because you have a high IQ, doesn’t mean that you have made money or are right all the time.
If you think about it, you’ll realize that there are ways to get happiness without any intellectual perspective.
Remove the belief that you have to be smart to be happy.
You can’t have the cake and eat it too… another stupid analogy, cause that’s the reason why people buy a cake in the first place and eat it afterward.
It’s all about changing the perspective.
Self-confidence is the real superpower:-
Always remember, self-confidence is the real superpower.
If you want to be successful build self-confidence. Do it blindly. Believe in yourself.
Believe you can do it no matter what.
Believe that you can sketch, or write, or compose music or even start that company.
And then proceed to act as if you are on that journey.
You have to program your mind that you are GREAT and you can do it.
You need to have that internal belief.
I was never confident that I could write as I had that limited belief of not having brains.
Then I read this book called Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon.
And it just changed my perspective that you don’t have to be super smart.
Just get started and show it to the world.
And then I started writing blogs and it just makes me feel great as I get to learn things.
I started leveraging the power of social media.
See, it’s all about changing the perspective.
So, that’s a wrap.
What is the one limited belief that you overcame?
