Helps in connecting the dots.

8 Underrated Skills For a better tomorrow:-
Here are the 8 most underrated skills to master for a better tomorrow. For a better future.
Building a community:-
We live in one of the best times.
A fast-paced world is surrounded by this powerful tool called the internet.
Building a community is one such skill that is essential in today’s time, it helps in creating information, and sharing it.
It is a medium to connect with people who are like-minded and are curious to learn new things.
It starts by building valuable content such as a blog, videos, or even starting a youtube channel.
Building an audience is one of the skills that will be in demand as we are switching to the creator economy.
Building an organic community takes time, patience, and being adaptable.

2. Give more, take less:-
Or as Gary Vaynerchuk like to call it, the 51/49 rule.
The idea is simple but the returns you generate are exponential in the long run. Everybody is interested in what’s in there for them, and how can they take advantage of it or make the most out of it.
This creates an extremely unhealthy business and doesn’t build trust creating little value.
When everyone is looking out for their own interest, relationships both personal and professional things start getting diluted and ruin things.
Remember this quote that just struck me, “Life gives to the givers and takes from the takers.”
So, start giving more early on and the value of all your relationships will 10 fold in time.
Yes, there will be people who will take advantage of your kindness so what? What have you lost and what have they gained?
It’s all about building trust, and taking care of them that’s how a business is built.
That’s how a strong network is built keeping the interest of others in mind, and no expectations in return. Sounds weird!
But giving more, and taking less is not just about money, it's more about building value for other people, and the world will reward for it.
3. Microlearning:-
Learning is like a gold mine, as it is something that should be explored.
The more you dive deep, the higher returns you will get.
But we are instilled with the thought that learning is done after the completion of school or college.
Well, I had this mindset as I used to think that to learn something you had to spend years in college to gain expertise but I was completely wrong.
Learning is infinite, and you don’t have to go to college to spend years, whereas, you can learn and gain knowledge by spending months or even weeks.
This is what microlearning is, it is a form of education based upon distilled doses of actionable knowledge.
In this fast-paced world, you need to be able to reinvent yourself whenever you need and to do that you need lots of tools that will bring you up to speed.
Microlearning means learning in a month what others do in a year. It is about making the process short, and crisp.
People can learn fast if approached properly. I learned more from microlearning than from the traditional form of education by signing up for courses on Domestika.
Dedicate 50-100 hours to a new topic and learn enough to start a business or upscale your career. It’s all about implementing it.
4. Speed reading:-
Reading is one of the most essential skills.
It is a medium to learn new things, and explore.
An average person reads one book a year. A CEO reads 50 books a year.
Reading a book probably sounds fetish, and can drive your mind crazy it’s because we are not so used to reading books as our academic system sucked and didn’t let us think beyond.
Whereas, reading a book or a novel expands our horizons. It’s not about reading the books it is about absorbing knowledge like a sponge and implementing that in real life.
That’s where speed reading comes in, and it is not just scanning but absorbing words.
Reading helps in building communication skills. Enhances creativity, and helps in thinking better.
Here’s a tip that I have used, while reading a book don’t bog down by seeing words, keep a pencil, and read lines along with the pencil. This helps read better.

5. Pitch an idea(Tell a story):-
If you have a story to tell and believe in the power of storytelling then you’ll do wonders.
Life is a story that you tell yourself. We see stories everywhere right from looking at the billboard to watching a movie, it is all curated with a story.
And through digitalization things are getting interesting and exciting. With that, businesses have changed drastically.
The ‘start-up’ culture is what I coin it, and the competition is increasing. But the ones with a great story are the ones who sell and persuade eyeballs.
A prime example that I genuinely like is that of Pet Rock which made over $15 million in six months and sold off the rights for a cool amount in the end.
Rage coffee is another example that sells amazing flavored coffees. It all starts by narrating a story, trust me your life will be better.
6. Self-reflection:-
This one is important as it about knowing yourself.
A skill that is still underrated and if not mastered then it will clutter your life. It all has to do with your mind, right from the way you think to absorb knowledge and thoughts.
Even the decision you in your everyday life is reflected. This skill is directly proportional to your mind.
A clouded mind leads to poor judgment and poor decisions. If there’s only one thing that you should focus on is, to focus on your mind.
The current world is built on simulation as everything is on your face all the time and there’s a short span of attention and focus as there is distraction everywhere right from news to social media.
This undivided attention dilutes our perception of time and scrambles your priority list.
We can’t hold a thought for even a minute and our mind is constantly racing from one thing to another, it deviates.
And that’s where mindfulness comes into the picture, it helps in thinking clearly, and focusing on the task, most important taking the right decisions.
To improve and follow mindfulness, meditate for 5-10 minutes and it will increase your attention span.

7. Drawing(Sketch out your thoughts):-
Sounds kiddish!! But this is one of the skills and is still underrated.
Drawing is considered a faded skill and quite often thought of as a kid’s skill but no I was completely wrong regarding it.
Drawing is one of the most beautiful skills to learn. There’s this saying, “A picture is worth more than a thousand words.”
Drawing is a montage of thoughts, it is a medium to communicate thoughts, pour out ideas, visualize ideas, and bring them to life.
Art is a broad field as a world without art is incomplete. Of course, you don’t have to be Pablo Picasso to draw, it is a skill that can be learned, all you need is paper, and a pencil to get started.
Despite digitalization, and the birth of illustration or in simple terms digital art, the traditional form of drawing is the best form of artwork and the demand for it won’t fade.

8. Playing an instrument:-
Yet another underrated skill that is fading.
Playing an instrument is one of the best ways to enhance creativity.
It allows us to think clearly, and co-ordinate with the team.
Not just that it sharpens concentration levels promotes social skills, boosts listening skills, and disciplines. Calms your mind.
Well, you don’t have to be a rockstar to play an instrument, you can play an instrument, it is just about learning the nuance. Learn basics.
So, grab any instrument like a guitar, or keyboard, watch tutorials on YouTube, and get started.
So that’s a wrap.

Emotional Intelligence:-
Yes, you heard that right. Despite where you lead in life, emotional intelligence is a must.
Well, it’s not just about having a high IQ but also having a high EQ matters too. You could be having a high IQ, and solve the problems, but if you don’t have a high EQ then there’s no point.
High EQ also matters cause that helps in handling crucial situations, and more importantly, helps in understanding people. High EQ=Being Empathetic.
Thank You.
